Study of the Impact of the Marketing Situation and the Risks of Early Intellectual Product Commercialization in the Science-Based Sphere on the Cost of the Patent License

The authors set forth the results of the study of the commercial risks impact on the cost of patent applications licensing in the context of the competitive environment. They have carried out a grouping of the commercial risks of the licensor and the licensee in accordance with the stages of IP patenting. The authors did propose an approach to the cost evaluation of patent licenses based on the systematization of licensing risks; they also did calculate the cost estimates of licensing consistent with the marketing research data. The authors affirm that stated theoretical and applied research results allow expanding the toolkit for evaluating licensing transactions.
