The authors examine the views of Utopian socialist Robert Owen on bourgeois civilization. They did observe that Owen consistently and harshly criticized the political, economic, social, and moral aspects of capitalist world order. They did note that the philosopher has attacked with the utmost cruelty the very basis of the capitalist world order, namely private property. The authors have stated that Owen did consider the domination of private property over the minds, the economic and political behavior of people as major setback to social relations harmonization and to achievement of the main goal of humanity, the universal happiness.
