The authors focus on such aspect of brilliant philosopher and mathematician Rene Descartes’ legacy as the development of a single general method, which was supposed to link all human knowledge, to become the Organum of theoretical thinking and the model of rational cognition. They state that Cartesian method is aimed to specify an optimal path to true knowledge and to delineate its boundaries. The authors quote Descartes’ criticism against traditional logic which should be replaced by new logic serving as the guidance on the development of thinking.
