The author questions the Cartesian method application to social knowledge. It is noted that Cartesianism as philosophical method proceeds from principles of all cognition’s objectivity, up to excluding a cognizer from its results. The author points out the actual inapplicability of methodological reductionism and internalism included in classic science ideal based on Cartesianism to social knowledge because of complicated nature of social system and impossibility of ideology removal from social knowledge.
Keywords: Cartesianism; classic science ideal; society; social behavior; civilization; change.
