Dear friends!
On 9 December 2015, National Research University of Electronic Technology solemnly celebrated its half-century jubilee.
Created in 1965 in pursuance of Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 1006 from 26 November 1965 as inescapable link in the system of national electronics manufacturing industry creation, the institute was aimed at provision of well-trained professionals in microelectronics for this new fast developing branch. The great traditions established by prominent Russian and Soviet scientists at the creation of our tertiary educational institution, the close association with academical science and industry, the high level of teaching and the leading-edge scientific thinking have made our university one of the country's best. In 1984, in recognition of its efforts on professional training and special equipment creation, MIET was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour. In 1992 it had earned the technical university statute and in 2010 became a winner in university development programs contest and was assigned the National Research University category.
In five decades there were many changes, numerous important and high-profile events, among others in domain of education reforms. But MIET reputation remained unchanged, it still is one of Russia's most accredited tertiary educational institutions in its field of knowledge. Now MIET is a prestigious university providing up-to-date high-quality education highly sought by the society, the science and the industry. Learning process' synthesis with research, intensive use of innovations, wide variety of curricula put into practice, and active participation of the university in the country's social life enable our graduates to achieve great heights in various branches of professional activity and to work effectively in the name of national prosperity.
The staff of the university is justifiably proud of unique scholarly traditions and developments, of teachers' and alumni's names among which there are many renowned scientists, industrial and public figures, prominent directors and remarkable working persons. The activity of academic researchers and educators sets a bright example of dedication to noble work for Russian science and education.
In the eve of its 50th jubilee MIET had successfully passed the next scheduled national accreditation of education. That was thanks to the teachers', staff, students' and postgraduates' labour of accreditation arrangement's quality preparation and carrying out, which enables us to hope that in future the university would retain forward positions in educational institutions' league table and its alumni would always be agents of leading-edge scientific thinking in all spheres of public life.
50 years is the age of maturity and strength when many things are achieved but much more are to the fore. Please accept my heartiest congratulations to all the students, teachers, staff and alumni on our university's jubilee! With all my soul I wish them good health, optimism, new professional achievements! May they always serve as models of high educational standards and brilliant reputation!
