The article is devoted to the philosophical study of personal life as a process of constant formation, development and improvement of the personality during which its qualities, properties and functions related to the physical, social and spiritual aspects have been formed. The emphasis has been made on the differences in the interpretation of the characteristics of personal life and its dynamics in various socially-cultural and historical contexts — from antiquity to the present. It has been concluded that personality is a sociocultural construct the development of which is determined by both biological and sociocultural factors.
