The author, using the example of mathematics teaching, considers the knowledge control methods in the tertiary education system in the form of computer-based tests and sums up this control tool’s advantages and disadvantages. The possibilities of professional capacities formation by means of test forms were shown. The author did expose the results of two Advanced Mathematics departments work on achievement control tools creation and did instantiate it with mathematic exercises and problems for economics students.
