The article is devoted to the study of leadership in the system of philosophical categories. The connections of leadership with the concepts of leadership, power and management are analyzed. The category of leadership includes individual and collective types of leadership, concepts of leadership model, leadership style, leader, followers. The importance of the leader’s followers is outlined. Emphasis has been placed on the connection between the leader functions and the head functions, the commonalities and differences of their roles by functional criteria are indicated. The author’s concept of the phenomenon of leadership expresses the idea of the social influence of a person or group on social integration and the achievement of socially significant goals through outlook, behavior, action in the system of relations.
