From the standpoint of harmonization of the natural and social rhythms of human life, an analysis of Confucianism as the offi cial state ideology was carried out. It is shown that the Confucian ideas of “humanity”, “duty”, “striving for knowledge”, “reverence for collective consciousness”, the primacy of public political interests over personal ones, etc. are quite stable, retain their signifi cance in modern conditions, adapting to the environmental needs of a stable development of not only Chinese, but also any other society. The inextricable connection of man in the context with nature is emphasized; the philosophical traditions of Confucianism and Taoism equally give such a sense of peace to the individual. In real life, both Confucianism and Taoism coexisted and even syncretized, contributing to the development of an integral system of ecological worldview. Philosophical traditions reinforced this system, and the veneration of nature was passed down from generation to generation
