Every three years Russian Federation hosts an international conference “Computer Technology in Russia and in the Former Soviet Union” (SORUCOM). In 2017, SORUCOM will be held at Zelenograd. It is commonly known that this year is marked by such significant dates in IT history as 55th anniversary of Russian microelectronics and its innovation center in Zelenograd, 50th anniversary of BESM-6 final implementation and 60th anniversary of Programming Office affiliated with Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In Zelenograd there are two more remarkable dates: 100th anniversary of Vasily Vladimirovich Grigorjevsky (1917—1994), age-mate of Soviet State and veteran of the Great Patriotic War, and 40th anniversary of Museum of Microelectronics named after him. Grigorjevsky’s life history is a kind of portrait set against a background of epoch, reflecting in many aspects our country’s history and progress, specifically in IT development.
