The authors consider the challenges of digitalization touching upon more new domains of public life and the risks for civilization related to it. A characteristic trend of digitalization was noted: horizontal social connections translocation into the virtual space of social networks. Digitized social networks are compared to such archaic social structures as a tribe and a community. It has been argued that virtual networks are able to influence public consciousness, pushing it towards archaization.
