From the perspective of social philosophy, the authors consider the mutual influence of science and public opinion as spiritual sphere institutions. The first part of the study notes the increasing role of science in the modern world, determining the success and even viability of states on the world stage. Two directions of the study of science in domestic and foreign discourse are distinguished. Guided by the works of classical and modern researchers, the authors analyze the institutional features of science and establish the specificity of scientific interactions between the subjects of science, graphically present the essence of science as a social institution.
