The modern education environment in the Russian Federation has seen new conditions in which teachers and students need to work and study. During the COVID-19 pandemic of 2019—2021, many higher education institutions moved their curricula to an asynchronous online environment, which lowered the number of classroom hours. The issue of the effective organization of quality listening lessons in a digital environment is an important challenge in modern foreign language teaching. The research shows that the issue can be solved using LMS (Learning Management Systems), namely Moodle – a free, self-hosted, and extensible platform. This article explores the potential of using Moodle to teach listening at EFL classes.
