The author has presented the results of research in the field of megaprojection economics. The author did consider elements of a new methodology for the economic analysis of megaprojects, showing the features of the system approach in the assessment of complex economic entities, in particular especially large projects. The author has analyzed possibilities of using elementary catastrophes’ models for the study of megaprojects as non-equilibrium self-organizing systems, specifically for assessing their stability, and has given recommendations on the use of certain evaluation criteria for the economic evaluation of mega projects.
