The authors consider mass information processes in modern world, revealing the role of mass media and communication in the society and explaining the requirements applicable to the content of the information field they create. The authors have analyzed the impact of mass information on public consciousness and public opinion. They explore the essence of “media culture” and “media security” concepts. The authors have affirmed the need to actively counter the negative impact of mass media on the student youth environment.
