Methodological Approaches to the Study of the “Innovative Potential” Category

The author did present a survey of works of Russian and foreign scientists following five basic methodological approaches to the study of innovation potential of the economic system as category serving as indispensable condition for the success of its activity. The author did consider main directions of innovative potential development, principal kinds of used resources, did mark out its classification criteria. He has analyzed innovative potential of higher education institution as economic subject and has proposed own definition of “innovative potential” category.
