The author analyzes the reasons why science and research activity in Russia are facing the credibility gap, namely: innovative orientation weakening, modern research activity structure amplification, and economic and social constituents strengthening as determining factor of national and world science development. He pays special attention to the necessity to spin off into the new separate entity in science structure the activities on scientific achievements and research and development results’ market launch. The author lists the conditions for, and marks the relevance of, integral and thorough theoretic understanding of this phenomenon.
