The authors expound the “trend” concept’s philosophical content, analyzing ontological and substantial characteristics of phenomena development trends and building their definition algorithm in application to historical science. For this purpose, they did use socio-philosophical approach to “phenomenon development trend” concept analysis. In the context of historical knowledge, the authors have deduced a range of positions confirming the immediacy of need to solve research tasks of phenomena development trends definition. They consider science-based forecasting as basis for selection of life spheres development model.
