The author did consider the question of import phaseout opportunities’ use to improve the economic activities of the Russian Federation in current political circumstances. The author did identify the concept, the characteristics and the current state of import substitution policy and did highlight the main problems of import phaseout strategy implementation through the example of consumer industry. He has noted particular importance of reconstruction of a complete production cycle at Russian consumer enterprises. The author has defined the problems that need to be solved in order to ensure more efficient import phaseout implementation process and better
return on investment.
