Cognitive Capitalism as New Socio-Economic Concept

The author examines the problem of strengthening the scientific knowledge role at the transition to “knowledge society”. Knowledge production is becoming a driving economic force in this process. The author believes that every member of the society is facing a necessity to coordinate his or her ideas and actions with the global humanistic values and targets. The definition of cognitive capitalism as a new socio-economic concept considering knowledge as the main source of profitability is given further. The author did the analysis of major changes in such spheres as labor nature and its arrangement, production organization, knowledge proprietary, knowledge turning into goods, and has concluded that the transition to cognitive capitalism has already started in the society and is accelerating nowadays that witnesses the importance of the issues touched upon and the urgency to understand all possible consequences.
