Education and Interethnic Processes

The author discloses special role of education in ethnic tension prevention and overcoming. He notes that civic consciousness formation process should be built on ethnocultural education, on promotion of tolerance and respect and on intercultural dialog. The author considers education as “soft” power able to solve one of contemporary world’s vital tasks: to settle ethnic conflicts. He also affirms that civic identity construction is impossible without mastering indispensable knowledge and methods.
