The author considers theoretical aspects of physical culture teaching in higher educational institutions. In the course of the study, the author did analyze foreign universities experience using the evidence from two countries: the USA and Poland. On the basis of practical developments of leading scientists, the author did make a conclusion regarding the modernization of physical culture teaching in Russian universities at the present stage of higher education development. The author has suggested problem-solving recommendations aimed at physical culture mainstreaming.
