The author justifies the usage of professional focused social networks Professionali.ru and LinkedIn.com as the complementary platform for training at “live” material and appraising in compliance with the principles of the competence-based approach in education. The author designates the need of conceptual framework’s correction for this approach in the documents regulating activity of the teacher, and draws a semantic analogy between virtual social network and the road as the comparable information channels of different eras used for the worker’s qualitative characteristics’ identification.
