The article traces the historical changes in the methodological principles of education as a whole and its variety, such as e-learning, in relation to the types of scientific rationality. The author concludes that the methodology of blended learning correlates with all types of scientific rationality because of the uneven development of traditional and digital didactics. Traditional didactics offers approaches consistent with non-classical and post-non-classical types of rationality, while the pedagogical ideas of digital didactics and numerous electronic means of implementing them into teaching practice remain within the framework of classical rationality.
