The authors consider bilingualism as one of the factors of the formation of professional mobility of students of technical (railway) universities. The concepts of “bilingualism” and “professional mobility” and their main components are analyzed. The characteristic of artificial bilingualism is given. The conditions of creating an artificial bilingual educational environment at the university as an effective means of developing academic and professional mobility are described. The authors conducted an experiment and a sociological study. Based on them, the conclusion has been made about the feasibility of introducing new technologies into the educational process aimed at forming professional mobility of graduates of engineering universities.
